Field Event Triggers - unexpected behavior

Happy new year fellow Qlikers.

I've noticed strange behavior with field Event triggers where making a selection on the trigger field fires the OnSelect event as expected, but when I click on associated field it fires the OnChange event and upon deselecting it fires the OnSelect trigger field again.

Is this the normal behavior for this action ?

Not sure how I can get around this if it is the case, the only way that I could do this is to not the the tables and I could add a Select In Field action however this adds complications when I select a campaign with no vouchers......Hmmmmmm
