Unable to open Qlikview document in Personal Edition

Hi All,

When i try to open Qlikview document in personal edition of another user i am getting error saying:

"Your installation of Qlikview has exceeded maximum number of document recoveries allowed for personnel edition license."

I tried to uninstall QlikView and cleanup the directorys and reinstall,still this is not resolved.

Any help will be appreciated!!!

personal edition cannot open a document saved by a licensed QlikView client

This may happens if you try to open Qlikview Files created by other users.

Hi neetha,

1)Once you make any application on personal Edition you can open that specific application only thrice on the same system.After that it will get corrupt(you wont be able to use that file).

2)You cannot open anyother application into your Personal Edition Qlikview(not even file made in personal edition),

Personal edition has a restricition that it cannot open any qlikview application made by another developers.

Hi Neetha,

Please see the following FAQ which explains the restrictions with the Personal Edition of QlikView

Personal Edition FAQs

Although you are able to access documents created by another QlikView user this will use up one of your 4 document recovery attempts. Doing this four times will lock you out, as you have discovered. This is one of the few restrictions of the free version of QlikView and can be resolved with the purchase of a QlikView Desktop license.

Yes,in qlikview personal edition we can make upto 4 document recoveries from other users.

i have done 4 document recoveries and got the above error,so uninstalled QlikView and cleanup the directorys and reinstall earlier and its working fine.

but again after 4 document recoveries this time I have uninstalled QlikView and cleanup the directorys and reinstall. Its not working unable to recover other users documents.

That is working as intended. The idea of licensing Qlikview as opposed to continually renewing your Personal Edition is the correct business model.

It's common error.

This comes when your QVW file create date exceed one month.

Hi Neetha,

The document recovery is not intended to allow you to open documents from other users. It is designed to allow you to move your QlikView install to another computer and recover your own existing documents. As you have been using it you have received the warning multiple times and now you are locked out of the content. You will be able to create and access new content but not your old content.

A licensed version of QlikView will be able to access all of the documents, regardless of them being created on the Personal Edition or a licensed edition of QlikView.

ou cannot open the documnets or applications on qlikview once the recoveries are over even if you uninstall and install it again.

You will have to make new application again
