Select in Field for three different dimensions

Hi guys,

I'm new to this community and hope you can help me with this request:

I'd like to implement a requirement that says: "When opening the sheet, the dimension A, the current year and the last completed month should be automatically selected".

I tried to implement this by using sheet event triggers "On Activate Sheet".

I've created three "Select in Field" actions.

1. Field "Dimension A", Search String "=variable_for_A"

2. Field "Year", Search String: "=max(dim_year)

3. Field "Month", Search String: "=max(dim_month)

Dimension A, Year and Month are stored in three different list boxes.

These actions are working as expected when using them alone. However, if used all together, I don't get the right result. For example, for dimension A data is only received for 2014 and month 1-5. I think this causes the problem. If I hardcode the fields with Year = 2014 and month = 5, then it works. But somehow, the application has problem when selecting Dimension A and not finding 2015 and 6 in the data for this value.

Could anyone advise, please?

The actions in qv won't be always executed sequentially - therefore such chaining from actions failed quite often. Maybe in your case you could get what you want if you used only one action and extend the search-expression like:

max({< [Dimension A] = {'variable_for_A'}>} dim_year & dim_month)
