help with Adhoc Report

Hi,

I'm creating Adhoc report . which pulls dimension from an excel .

I have field %KEY_PROD in DM. I am creating another dimension from this key field using epression RIGHT(LEFT(%KEY_PROD,8),4),

dim_Category	dim_Name	FieldName
Material(Trans)	P3#	RIGHT(LEFT(%KEY_PROD,8),4)

when I load it in Application. It doesnt pull any value in P#3.

pls help!!

Hi,

Can you post the sample data and expected out? It would help us give the better solution

and instead of right,left.. you can try the mid function.

like this =mid('ABCDEFGHI',5,4)
