Widget based dashboard

I wonder if it's possible to create a QV page layout based on widgets.

Idea is that the user can select and place the information he wishes in a dashboard.

Each widget can contain KPI information, a graph, diagram or even a weather forecast info.

It's the same as when you populate your mobile start page with apps and widgets e.g. from Google Play.

See the PNG attached as an example for a widget based dashboard.

I know its possible to offer KPIs and dimensions in listboxes, where the user can select from and
populate a dynamic pivot table (sc. Self Service BI).

Could anybody even possibly show a demo app or an example?

Further requirement: I do not want to use QSense. It must be done with QlikView!

You can try to create the KPI's and metrics from text/list boxes then place them into a Container to group them.

I know you don't or cant use QSense right now, but it really is better suited for this task.

QV is not so great at grouping objects for drag N drop.

Hopefully that will improve in future releases then this type of drag N drop will be easier. Right now they are much different UI platforms to state the obvious.

You may want to nest the containers for added control.

then show or hide the containers using a variable for the users to determine what to show.

QlikView does not implement this as "per si'.

Some ways of doing this

Using regular QlikView objects (styling and positioning each one)
Using Extensions (1 extension <-> 1 widget)
Using Web iFrames showing pieces of other sites

Too bad. While it might be possible in QlikView, it would be fairly easy in Qlik Sense. See this video:
