Cannot open QVW on Personal Edition

Hi,

I have installed the Qlikview personal edition. I am not able to open the QVWs that were created by me using the personal edition. Getting a message as shown below. I have tried reinstalling Qlikview but still it does not work.

Hello!

You have to use your files in the same machine and by the same windows username.

If you have opened not your file than you can't open your files, because your personal key have been changed.

Hi,

Its on the same machine and same windows username. I am not making any changes to the QVW. Just saving it and trying to reopen.

Did you open not created by you files since you stored your QVW?

Hi greeshma,

Try with drag and drop on the personal edition it should work if you builted that QVW app.

Hi,

without license also you can open the files which created by you in your same PC. But you cannot open the files created by others or in other PC. Qlikview save PC and user id details while saving. It validates those when opening the files.

So that is why you are not able to open the file. If you have Qlikview Server you can lease license from that. This is the only limitation of Qlikview Desktop.

It happens if you open a qvw( which is not created by you) in personal edition.

Thanks for all the responses. The QVW that i am trying to open is created by me on the same machine using the same windows credentials. I am not opening a qvw created by another user.

Then it should open, otherwise there may be change in UserID or PC/Laptop.

I have faced the same issue for this the solution is reinstall and next time try to drag and drop on the qlikview desktop dont try to open as double click on file or file open options. try like this It is working with me
