changing title and label

Hello QV Community,

is it possible to change the Title/label of a chart automatically without by doing it manually?

It's a bit difficult to explain what I want to ask, but I will show you an excample.

I have listbox with the title Direct Purchase

Direct Purchase
Car
Boat

I have a two databases with different customers and different type of financing

Database 1

Customer	Type of Financing
WA Ltd	Direct purchase

Database 2

Customer	Type of Financing
GO Plc	Lease

Actually WA Ltd purchases Car and Boat directly and GO Plc is leasing Machine and Building

What I want to ask is, if i load in the databases 2 for excample, is it possible that qlikview recognizes the database or the customername of the database and is able change the Listbox "Direct Purchase" into "Lease" including its products by an if-expression? See right below what I mean.

Old database saved in qv

Direct Purchases
Machine
Building

now loading in new database

Change automatically the same listbox into Lease

Lease
Car
Boat

some if expression like this:

QV should recognize

if customer = WA Ltd, give out all Direct purchase products

if customer = GO Plc, give out all lease products

etc....

And does it work for charts as well?

My QV document has got a lot of listbox and charts. The reason why i ask u this is because It is really annoying to change the title manually as my database and my qv document are quite big. Furthermore my chief is only an user and has no clue about qv. he is loading different databses with different customers into qv. every customer has got its own database. thats why it s annoying to change every single title and label in qv the whole time. . .

of course you can. QlikView can do 😉

Does your chart work the same whatever database you connect to or are they two different charts?

Does the user select anything to trigger the connection to the one or the other database or are they both loaded into the app and the user selects afterwards? Anyway, what does the user select?

1. The chart work the same whatever I connect

2. The user is selecting one database. (I dont exactly know what u mean by "selecting")
