Share selection between documents

If do filter of a field in a document go to another document in QlikView.

That is, I have two QlikView documents and the two have a common field, if I make a selection in a field of one of the documents in a simple way I can pass this selection to another document.

If you are on version 9.00 or above, you can use Actions to open the second document, and configure it to apply the same selections.

The only other way, that I can think of, would be to create a bookmark in one document, then export it and then import it into the second document - all via macro. Quite complex... Action would be much easier...

Hi,

if you use your document 1 as source for document 2 you can set some variables by actions and how you load document 1 in document 2 you have the same variables and you can use these variables to set your fields.

Pekalab,

1. Create a new button

2. Add an Action

3. Find an action called "Open QlikView Document" (hint: it's in the section "External")

4. Enter the name of your second document.

5. Check the checkbox "Transfer State" to pass the selections over.

you are done!
