Design esthetic problem

Hello everybody,

i have a new problem to solve, Now is about design i want to categorize my filed, here is an example

I have all this filed already in my qlikview app Total, Boucle 1.. Boucle 3,

I want just for esthetic purpose to have that

So i want to create a "Boucle" case at the left to regroup ''Total + Boucle 1 +Boucle 2 + Boucle 3" and the line at the top ''Longueur"

somebody can help? Thanks

Your solution works, by when in put the syntax in my current qlikview app, i dont see nothing?

How to insert that in my app?

The load script is not sufficient to visualize anything - it is just the way of getting the Category field created.

What did you try to do in you QlikView application? Did you create a Pivot Table like I did?

No a pivot table but, a constant table juste to caegorize my field by type,

i want to have a straight table with my field that i have already load and create some supplementary case to categorize by type,

Did you understand ?

I already have a straight table like the image 1 of my example, i want to add to this straight table some cases 'Boucle' at the left et 'Longeur' at the top

Your syntax work great, now if i want to replace 'Boucle 1' by the real field that containts the values how i get that?

Can you explain the syntax and what that mean please? Sorry for asking more but im very new on qlik

subfield(s, 'delimiter' [ , index ] )

In its three-parameter version, this script function returns a given substring from a larger string s with delimiter 'delimiter'. index is an optional integer denoting which of the substrings should be returned. If index is omitted when subfield is used in a field expression in a load statement, the subfield function will cause the load statement to automatically generate one full record of input data for each substring that can be found in s.

In its two-parameter version, the subfield function generates one record for each substring that can be taken from a larger string s with the delimiter 'delimiter'. If several subfield functions are used in the same load statement, the Cartesian product of all combinations will be generated.

Examples:

(For three parameters)

subfield(S, ';' ,2) returns 'cde' if S is 'abc;cde;efg'

subfield(S, ';' ,1) returns NULL if S is an empty string

subfield(S, ';' ,1) returns an empty string if S is ';'

mark correct answer if you done ?

You need to change the:

SubField(TOTAL, ' ' , 1)

so that the ' ' is replaced with a character the divides the TOTAL in two like for instance a period:

SubField(TOTAL, '.' , 1)

I dont resolve the problem, this why the discussion still open,

I create a qv file wiich containt already a field Boucle 1...3. can you can do it with that?

Because i seem like i dont explain very well, i dont want to insert manualy the values of the filed Boucle 1, 2 and 3, i have already load that in my qv app before.

But I missed something, in my example its was two fields = (Boucle 1, Boucle 2, boucle 3) and that containt value, but i fact its 3 fields : [Boucle 1], [Boucle 2], [Boucle 3] eaach fields containt his values

now i want to regroup like you did this 3 separates fields because its the same category

But like i say i want to do that for esthetic purpose so , how i can have at the left Just one Big case Boucle instead of 3 separate cases?

Just for perfection, i can do this with 'Longueur' case to at the top? i saw that you created 3 case for that too
