Need Help on Data Modeling.

Hi Friends ,

I have a situation

I have basically 8 Tables which are linked 2 by 2 , you can ssee in below image

Site Table is linked with Site ,
SubSegment is linked with SubSegment
Segment is linked with Segment
Corporate is linked with Corporate

So in this case i have 4 different year field and different Month field ,

I just want 1 common year field and 1 common Month field .

For that i have tried to make link table for SIte, SubSegment,Segment,Corporate table , but it is making circular reference .

Please help me !!!!

in order to build a common year or month for all the tables you should have common key between all the tables or atleast you should have a reference key which will help you to link all the tables. As per your inputs I am not able to see any common key to which is linking the tables. can you please share the same data so that we can analyse

Hi Agnivesh,

Post sample data. In case you don't have common keys, I recommend to create some pseudo column by autonumber function and get the tables connected..

jaaldurgam‌ in this case we cannot assume the key rite? because how we will get to know which site is linked with which segment

Avinash - We will get clarity if we have the data. I was giving generic answer to connect between tables...

As per my data model i have shared earlier

We are making 4 Different chart to show the site wise , segment wise and sub segment wise and corporate wise.
