Hi,

I have multiple fact tables in my data model which use the same dimensions.

So I tried using link table for linking a 'Inventory' fact table and 'Orders' fact table

But since link table is created using the columns of only one fact table ( say Inventory table).

The link table will contain values from only Inventory table. This way I won't get the associations from Orders Table.

Please suggest any method other that Concatenate or Link table .

Thanks

You could match your tables with joining and/or mapping but a concatenate or a link-table approach is often more suitable and whereby concatenate the easiest way is to create such a datamodel.

Your link-table model failed because you have created in from only one fact-table but it must contain the distinct key-values from both fact-tables. Here you find many examples and explanations:

Concatenate or Link Table?

MASTERTABLE (LINKTABLE or Concatenated FACT Table)

Concatenate vs Link Table

- Marcus
