Configuration to start development

Good day,

I am looking to start dashboard development in QlikView before finalizing my firms distribution method.

Initial configuration: 5 Report Development licenses (minimum) and 1 Small Business Server license.

Should I have any concerns?

Concerns about what?

You don't give much information about your environment / requirements. So it's hard to answer your question.

A small business server with 5 Named User CALs allows you to start development (with 5 developers), but there are a lot of other inputs that need to be taken into consideration, for example server size, access methods etc.

Hello Mitch,

From your description it appears your firm is a small business embarking on a new QlikView development program, and internally do not have familiarity with the platform yet.

As Swuehl has pointed out, if you have specific technical inquiries about how the QlikView platform works and is suitable for your environment, specifying the nature of the problem on these forums, means someone can probably assist you.

For a more general introduction to QlikView and configuration of your initial installation, I might contact your Qlik sales rep and see what recommendations they have for support of your environment.

Sorry about the lack of details.

I have confirmed the server configuration and desktop requirements with my QlikView representatives and also used the free test download to perform a proof of concept so we are ready to begin dashboard development when we move forward with the purchase. We are still working to establish what are needs will be from a dashboard/reporting distribution perspective.

I just wanted to confirm based upon others past experience, that we will be able to move forward with development and we are not missing any QlikView components to get started.
