HI community,

I´m having some difficulties trying to understand how we can create a new Item Master using an existing one. In Qlik Sense, let say that I have an Item Master called Cost and another one called Sales. In order to create a new one called Margin, what is the right syntax (if is possible) to do that?

Thanks in advance!!

Diego!

Hello Diego,

Currently that is not possible but is on the roadmap. We we would refer to that as nested expressions. You can do this in the Data Load Editor at the data model level when entered with script. You can use LET statements and a combination of variables to do so. Here is an example using QlikView, but the syntax also applies to Qlik Sense: BI Review: How to write reusable and expandable expressions in QlikView

Let us know how you do.

Please mark the appropriate replies as correct or helpful so other members and our team knows that your question was answered to your satisfaction.

Regards,

Mike T

Qlik
