Hello everyone,

I love using qlikview 10 - some features are really nice. But new features in version 10 report editor are killing me. Qlikview 9 version had quite minimalistic report editor, but i've got used to it. Now it's impossible to work there, so i am using version 9 for report purposes.

is it possible somehow to turn of qlikview version 9 report editor features/ layouts in qlikview 10?

Hello!

I'm sure that there is no way to turn it off! But you may using version 9 only for "reports".

We are currently looking to upgrade to 10 and we use the reports heavily. If you have time, can you explain the major differences you are seeing between 9 and 10? This is the first we have heard of a new Report Editor in 10.

Hello jsomsen,

For example:

I have ready report structure on 1 report page ( i.e. 4 charts on one page, headers, footers, etc. ). If i want to create another page with same structure, but different charts. I copy-paste report. And then in

Version 9 i do next steps: I click on some chart properties in qlikview dashboard, then copy "Object ID', then go back to report editor >Select chart I want to replace > Item Settings > and paste new "Object ID" there.

Version 10:

First problem - While report editor is open - I cannot look any other object's properties in Qlikview. I have to close report editor every time i need to look for some objects "Object ID".

Second problem - I cannot change "Object ID" in report editor. So i need to drag new objects from dashboard (So i have to create every next slide from scratch, adjusting chart sizes, etc. ) . Considering editing dificulties in Report Editor ( I.e. undo doesnt work, formating isn't very comfortoble. ) + Amounts of data ( try doing that with 20 pages x 4 slides for example, you will quikly notice the difference). This makes report editor in version 10 useless tool for me.
