I can't replicate it with just the information that you have given?

Have you tried setting an expression for the sort order - the expression should have a set.

Stephen

Hi guys,

I have two charts:

1. A bar chart showing uptime per individual system, sorted numeric value ascending.

2. A line chart which shows uptime over time per system. So there are multiple lines on the chart. It shows the data across months or the last 12 weeks through creating a cyclic group for the x-axis. This chart shows the 5 systems with the lowest uptime.

When no date selections are made in the dashboard the first 5 systems (columns) on the 1st chart should be the same systems as the 5 on the lower chart. This doesn't seem to be the case. The sorting on the bottom chart seems to miss out 1 system. eg if the bottom 5 on the 1st chart was a,b,c,d,e - the line chart would show a, b, c, e, g. The line chart is a trending chart, so that it is not affected by date selections (used set analysis for this). When I remove the set analysis, the chart works in terms of sorting (however, it only then gives data for 1 month which we do not want).

Has anyone have any ideas as to why this may be?

Regards,

Hi,

I can see what you are trying to do here, but I don't think it can work. The problem is the sort order. You can't change it so the second ordering may not come into play at all.

Dunno if you can do this with a calculated dimension either.

Stephen

Ok Stephen,

But should the sorting not work for at least the monthly data? Eg - in the example I sent you, the bottom 5 do not match the bottom the systems on the bottom chart.

Regards,
