Table scrolls when making selection

Hello,

I have this table, just a basic table object. It's wider than the screen so of course it scrolls horizontally as one would expect. Many of the fields in this table object have the dropdown select.

If I scroll the table to the right, then make a selection using one of the other objects on the page, the table immediately scrolls itself back to the beginning. Even if I use one of the dropdown selects from that table, it scrolls itself back to the beginning, even before I've made the selection from the dropdown.

I'm not sure, but I don't believe this happened in 8.0, only since I've started using 8.5. This is very annoying. I can understand a table going back to the top after making a selection since the record set would change, but if I have to scroll a table to the right to see specific columns, I'd like it to stay there even when making selections. Any ideas on how I can make this stop?

The "Preserve Scoll Position" checks in the User Preferences and the Layout options of an object are meant for the vertical scollbar in a table. So that won't help you here. I don't know if there is a way to stop the reset of a horizontal scroll in a table object.

What might work (depending on your table) is recreating the table as a Pivot Table. That way you can collapse fields.
