I am trying to pull data from an excel file into my Qlik report. Its a beast of an excel file and the owner does not want to format the dataset as a table. Its been set up with filters only. Is there any way to use this data without formatting it into a table first?

Thank you in advance for any help!

I think you need to use the wizard to import this kind of excel file, after you choose your file in the next step you have to make the transformation step.

I hope you got it.

Hi Robyn,

File wizard is useful for this scenario. You can transform the data as you wish in File wizard:transform step. Filters are applied automatically.

I think its useful.

Hii Robyn,

Its a gap between what you have (the input data) and what you want to get (output data). So it will be better if you update the excel a bit i.e. a bit more realistic and mainly put the output you want in the next sheet. This way it will be easy enough to understand your problem. Hope you understand.

Regards,

Joy
