What is the Functionality of Tableau Live Connection??

I have gone through Tableau Live Connection...

As of now no such functionality seen from Qlik, but may be later they come

A Live Connection means that Tableau sends queries to your database, and retrieves data. Generally, these queries will return whatever data is currently in the database; with one important exception – any data currently in Tableau’s cache.

Yes, there is direct discovery feature available in QlikView 11.2 version. see the below link

Qlik have inbuilt functionality of In Memory storage which is nothing but Cache Storage itself.

QV Engine do the same thing, like sends queries to your DB and pull the data from DB

Is this really live though? Or more on demand / button click? Live to me implies that the data updates without any user interaction.
