Can a variable change a chart type whilst in a container

Dear Qlikview user

I may asking too much of the Qlikview product, but wanted to know if the following is possible

I have a container object which contains stacked bar charts

I have an input box where the end user can select various dimensions to cut the graph

I.e. If the user chooses Department, the graph will show a stacked bar of all departments

However, some of the dimensions do not lend themselves to a stacked bar chart and a line chart would be better

As I am using a container object, I do not want to show caption and fast change options, so I wanted to know if it is possible to control which graph a user sees through a variable?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Yes this is possible.

1. Create a Trigger on value change of the variable/ field selection

2. Create two different charts (bar and line)

3. Based on the values in variable show either bar or line.

4. Conditional show of chart needs to be set.
