Configuration setting for installing web server on different machine

Hi All,

I have to install qlikview server on different machine and web server on different machine.I need the setting for configuration of web server on different machine.I have already refered the qlik server reference manual,But did not get any information related to configuration setting required for web server on different machine.

I also need list of task to perform the installation. This should contain all details i.e. server configuration, user setup, project setup, etc.

We are using active directory users.

Any help highly appreciated.

Perform two installations, the QVWS on machine 1 and the rest on machine 2. Start the required services on both machines. Open the QMC on machine 2. Go to System->Setup->QlikView Web servers and change the listed web server or define a new one with the proper values in tab General->Location.

As soon as the QMC can find the web server, you will be able to configure both platforms and all services from within the QMC.

Can you tell me if I need to install IIS on different machine 1 instead of web server there.What different configuration setting I need to do over there step by step?

And what setting I need to do on Machine 2 to connect to it?

That depends on what web server you prefer. If you need IIS as web server for the AccessPoint, then install IIS. If you want QVWS to serve the AccessPoint pages, then install QVWS. If you installed IIS on machine 1, then you must install the QlikView Settings service as well. Otherwise the QMS will not be able to talk to IIS.

I do not understand your second question: "And what setting I need to do on Machine 2 to connect to it?" You can only connect to machine 2 using the QMC. And the QMC only needs the QMS installed and running. All configurations are done using the QMC.

I need the basic setting steps I need to for IIS installation on different machine and setting we need to do on Machine where server is installed.

Exactly the way I want the document.But do you have specific related to my requirement.

Machine 1- IIS as web server installed

Machine 2 - Qlikview server, Directory Service Connector, Qlikview Management Console and Qlikview Distribution service
