topic Windows 7 in QlikView

Hi I'm trying to install 32bit desktop versjon 8.50 (have to because of some customer projects) on Windows 7 enterprise production version. I receive the error : Installation ended prematurerly because of an error. Has anyone received the same error?

In my event manager it only says : Event ID 11708

Product: QlikView -- Installation operation failed.

Hi Amit, I tried that but it didn't help. I get the same error. I've also tried to download again and try, plus I've tried the exe-file we had from before.

Windows gives me the error but event viewer now says :

Windows Installer installerte produktet. Produktnavn: QlikView. Produktversjon: 8.50.6231.5. Produktspråk: 1033. Produsent: QlikTech International AB. Installasjonens resultatstatus: 1603.

But it isn't installed..

Hi,

I remember getting this same error when trying to install 8.5 on Vista. I had to register the VBScript.dll (as the post mentioned by Amit above). May be you can try to download a fresh copy of VBScript.dll and try registering it again. Unregister it before registering it back again.

See if this helps. Else I am sure there would be experts here who can suggest you something better and precise.

Success! I found my old vbscript.dll from march 2009 (I don't dare to download dlls) and registered that one instead of the native windows 7. Then it worked.
