Hi:

Have you tried to change or erase a group in QV 10 SR1?

When I do it, my doc freezes.

Does it happen to you too?

Hi Christian,

can confirm it. My app is frozen after deleting a group. I tested same on V10IR right now --> looks alright, app is still responding after deleting.

In addition to my post above,

in this moment I found a workaround: only mouse-input seems to be unabled. I put in <ctrl> T and the table viewer opened accordingly. After closing the viewer the app seems to work fine again.

Well, I tryed Ctrl + S and it did not.

Sometimes does, some other times don´t.

The solution is open with QV 9, erase the group.

Come back to 10 and create a group with different name.

Possible workaround:

This happened to me and several others only when attempting to edit a group from within a chart's properties.

We were able to edit groups from Document Preferences without any problems.

Please try and confirm if you can.

Efectiviwonder, it does work fine in doc properties.

No need to open 9 SR6.

But this should be fixed anyway, in order to have the application complete, as we all love it.

It also happens when you try to modify or create a new group from time to time. At least to me.

Today we've released an update to SR1 (its a new build number) that addresses the issues related to editing groups and having QlikView hang. Please review this blog post from our support group to find out how to get this update to SR1.

The link you pointed to says

" If you have experienced any of the problems below and would like a copy of this release, please log a case through the Customer Portal or Partner Portal, respectively."

We're a partner. Where can we log a case on the partner portal? The Qforce-PRM is not enabled for us.

We don't have access to the "customer portal"; we asked for it and basically we were told this is handled by QlikTech US operations and our support contact can't help us and that's it.

Hello All,

FOr thos of you who dont know, Application freezing, while trying to edit the groups is a known bug to QlikTech as of V10SR1. I dont think they mentioned in the SR document, but I will try and get the ID for this bug, ITS OPEN AND A KNOWN BUG to them in V10. We tried to raise this a month back and they told they are already aware and sent us a ID for the same.

Who is you account manager? Let me know and I can help you chase that down (using direct messaging via the community maybe a better communication channel)

I have also found that in testing the QlikView Update within your QlikView you will be taken to the download site as well

This bug is really weird. I have a customer who is affected badly with it but on my laptop it works fine, I am downloading the update for them now though.

(A little late) but I can confirm the bug and the workaround. Still, I forget sometimes and the app freezes. When it does freeze, though, you can still access the File menu (ALT + F) and save your document.
