How do YOU help your users with a field desciption?

Hi there,

i try to develop a help system for our qvw-files.

Because we are in a deep medical business, there should be a help system which contains explainations for our fields.

i am thinking of this way:

1) an application (i.e. a simple Java Programm) to save fieldinformation like name, common-name, description, category, etc.

2) creating a qvd-file with all the information we stored in the database-table.

3) when developing a new qvw, also add the used fields from the field-help.qvd (as example)

4) the user qvw has now an extra tab with the field information where the user can see what the fields are meant to be.

so i am new to this topic and technology and would ask: how do you solve this problem?

and: is this a way it could work?
