Direct Discovery system variables

Hello,

I am hoping you can help me clarify some notions on QlikView Direct Discovery functionality.

I have used the Direct Discovery functionality with DirectCacheSeconds system variable set for 10 seconds. The application provides the expected results but I received a question regarding the DirectCacheSeconds variable whether it overwrites the default settings from QMC for the Maximum Inactive Session Time or for the Possible Session Timeout. Could you please let me know if these settings are related?

I believe these settings are not related, Diana, they control completely different features.
