QlikView - Reusing Expression with Variable as a Variable

Hello,

I am trying to convert the following expression in a variable (I have referenced the steps shown in: Reusing Expressions), but the chart is not calculating. I have used $-sign expansion as instructed, but no success. Could this be due to the 'vInitial' variable I have within the expression, or the hidden dates?

If(vInitial = 1, (Num(Count(Distinct If(([Initial Receipt Date] >= %CPStartDate AND [Initial Receipt Date] <= %CPEndDate ) OR ([Follow-Up Date]>= %CPStartDate AND [Follow-Up Date] <= %CPEndDate AND Significant = 'Yes'), RecordID))

What are the date formats of your ReceiptDates/FollowupDate and your %CPDates?
