topic Error in QlikView

Hi All,

I need to know about the below error:

Error: ErrorSource: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server, ErrorMsg: Cannot open database "ODS_1" requested by the login. The login failed

-What does it cuases?

-What is RCA?

-What is the solution?

Hi Mahamed,

It seems that:

The OLE DB connection is not properly created (ODS_1 database does not exist), or
You are not using the properly user/password, or
You have not vissibility to the database

Hello Mahamed,

Trust that you are doing well!

Below is my analysis:

1. Provided user credentials are not correct (Please try to validate the same using MS SQL Server Management Studio; if you are able to access database then try to update the connection string in QlikView using the same credentials. if you are unable to access the database then contact the DBA team to get correct credentials and use the same in QlikView)

2. Provided user do not have access to stated database (Please check whether user has the access to given database; If user do not have the access to given database then ask DBA team to provide access to respective database)
