Getting the a field value relative to the current fieldvalue selection

I have a table of financial years

2009-2010

2008-2009

2007-2008

2006-2007

If 2009-2010 is selected I want to use the previous year 2008-2009 in an expression.

Any ideas please.

Hi Adrian,

let me suggest to create a Fiscal Year. See the attached example.

Not exactly what you want but maybe a workaround.

No I did not but I did find out the solution to my original problem. Miquel asked it the format of the field I was trying to filter on was the same everywhere.

I went and checked that the field contained a number for the date with no roundings. Later I noticed that the format of the field in one of my listboxes was different to the format elsewhere. Once I made them all the same it worked.

I can not understand how or why this makes a difference but it does it is very annoying.
