We are using the fields USERID and PASSWORD in section access to login into the document.

The Reload in Qlikview Plublisher 8.5 was great. With the removal of Publisher in Qlikview 9, the Reload does NOT work

since Qlikview Management does provide the task management section without the publisher license.

The message we get reads "might require username and password" . If we try a batch file, it also prompts for userid and password.

The Reload does work if we user NTNAME in Qlikview Management but we prefer to use the fields USERID and PASSWORD.

Does anyone have the answer. I am not having to much luck getting responses in the Qlikview Community.

Hi,

I'm not a specialist concerning publisher and security issues, but I'm trying to help: I could imagine that the security in QlikView management console is set to NTFS (as it's working with NTNAME). Perhaps it should be set to DMS Authorization (QlikView controls file access) ... Unfortunately I can't try it, only have a productive environment and don't want my users to kill me ;-)). Only a suggestion ....

I appreciate your reply.

I have tried both NTFS and DMS authorization but I get the same message "document failed to open..the document might require username and password."

With Qlikview 8.5, publisher, reloading the documents with the USERID and PASSWORD fields was never a problem.

Qlickview 9 without publisher and using documents with USERID and PASSWORD does NOT work. Does anybody have the answer?

Hi, atattoli.

I have the same problem.

I have section access as:

ACCESS, USERID, PASSWORD, SERIAL

ADMIN, *, *, 1234 5678 1234 5678

and QVS can't reload my document.

Did you find solution ?

In the QlikView Server/Publisher manual for version 9 it specifically addresses this issue on page 247. In short is says 'if you have Section Access in your document script you must add the account that you are runnning the QlikView Distribution Service (QDS) under, or a group to which this account belongs in your Section Access.' And there is an example provided as well

I don't know how this worked in 8.5, but in QV9 (Enterprise) the Reload Task definition screen contains Section Access Username & Password fields for use when using USERID instead of NTNAME. Are those fields available in the Standard license?
