Problem in data filteration after adding multiple databases

Hi All,

Can anyone help me to load two tables of same structure from two different databases which is also of same structure.

Same has to be done for Security table(Section Access) also.

I have attached the sample application. Hope this will help you to understand. From the application check the following points.

1. Check whether it is the right way load two tables of same structure from two different databases which is also of same structure.

2. Also check whether i have done correctly in the Security table(Section Access) also.

Will be thankful if some one helps me to give sheet wise access according to the logged in user.

3. Problem what I am facing here is all the userid and password from VPDPLdatabase works but from the RSM database only those userid which have password as c2info99 only works. Let me know why it is happening like that. (It is working now. The reason why it was not working was other than C2INFO99 rest of the password were in small letters. After converting it to upper in the section access it started working.

Will be thankful if some one helps me to give sheet wise access according to the logged in user. ( SOME ONE CAN HELP ME FOR THIS PLEASE???)

Hi,

Admin user has not yet been created in that. As i don't know how to do it.

Actually all the user id including admin comes from table which has not been included in the script due to synthetic key. All the userid except admin is as what it has been loaded through script.

Let me know how admin userid and pasword can be taken now.

This user have all the rights. As admin has not yet been created.

For giving sheet access according to the logged user you must be define a condition in every sheets properties options, general, show sheet / Conditional and insert the follow sentence:

=mixmatch(QvUser(), '001001202', '051011702', 'User ID what you want')

As far as I understood, you want users to limit the visibility of certain pages and / or objects, so they have the property that I have indicated before, the QvUser function returns the nickname what the user used to login, so you can decide when or not allowed to see the page or object.

Yes you are correct! I want users to limit the visibility of certain pages and / or objects. Still i couldn't understand your idea. Can you please implement the same in my application. I will tell you what i need in my application.

I have created two sheets in my application. 1. Distributor 2. Company.

If admin logs in he should be able to see the distributor sheets only and whereas if others logs in (eg: userid:0010012021, password:c2info99) He should be able to see only the Company sheet not the distributor.

Once you clear this doubt i have few more doubts!

Hi,

There is a problem, you haven't defined an Admin user, so, the example won't work, if you login with the user 0010012021 you can't see the Distributor's sheet but you can't probe the other case (= mixmatch(QvUser(), 'ADMIN')).

You can see how the sentence is used looking into Sheet Properties for the sheet Company.

Thanks for your help! You are right! Admin user is not yet defined. That's was the doubt which i had planned to ask to you. I didn't defined the admin user just because of the synthetic keys problem in the current data model.

I saw the condition. But the thing is that this sheet is not only accessible by 0010012021 user. It is accessible by all the user except admin. There is thousand's of users. It's not easy to enter manually. May i know the other possibilities?

I can get the admin userid and password if i use this script (SQL select c_account_code as account,c_loginid as username,c_password as password,
c_mfac_code as mfaccode from mfac_mst;) But the reason why i am not considering is just because of synthetic key issue.

That the reason i am using (rtrim(i.c_account_code)+rtrim(i.c_mfac_code) as userid,rtrim(m.c_password) as password) as the c_loginid which is there is the above script is calculated in the same way except admin.

So let me know what i need to do if i want to add the admin user.

Ok dsjain,

I understand there is a lot of user, so, the solution for this is create a constant field on the intems load, something like 'USER' as UserType, so, the condition for the sheet will be =UserType = 'USER'.

For getting the admin users, I dont understand why you can load the records as like are you doing for the User ones. Please be more specific because I saw on your script the loadig from the mfac_mst table. --> I am getting the userid using this "rtrim(i.c_account_code)+rtrim(i.c_mfac_code) as userid" in the script. Because of the join condition we are not able to get the admin userid.

Due to synthetic key problem i am unable i am not taking the userid and password in normal way. Thats why i used join in condition in script.

By the way i will tell you the purpose of admin and normal user login in my application. If the logged in user is USER(userid:0010012021(accountcode:001001,mfaccode:2021),password:c2info99) He should see only only those records related to the account code and the mfaccode in the userid.

If the logged in user is admin he should be in a position to see all the records. I mean to say that accountcode: will remain common in this way. But he should be in a position to see the overall performance all the manufacturers.

Please get back me if you have any doubts.

Hi dsjain,

There is an example file with the possible way for definig the access for your users. I've made my own data to explain it better.

There are three sheets, the main and the "limited stores" can being viewed for all users, the "all stores" only for admin users.

This is the user's list:
USERID PASSWORD ACCESS FIL_STORE
USER1 USER1 USER S1 <- User1 can view the S1 and S4 stores data
USER1 USER1 USER S4
USER2 USER2 USER <- User2 can view all stores data but not the all stores sheet
USER3 USER3 USER S3 <- User3 can view the S3 store data
USER4 USER4 ADMIN <- User4 can view all stores data and the all stores sheet
USER5 USER5 USER S2 <- User5 can view the S2 store data
USER6 USER6 ADMIN S1 <- User6 can view the S1 store data and the all stores sheet
