'Clear Field' action missing, even though 7436/7440 release notes say it's fixed..

I am reading the release notes for QV SR3 7440 and 7436

it indicates the following bug fix:

bug id=24482, case no=14815, title= 'Missing Action - Clear field option missing'

However, when I look at the list of Actions, 'Clear Field' is still missing.

The only options available are (which have existed since the general release of v9.0):

Clear All

Clear Other Fields

I have really been waiting for the 'Clear Field' action... anyone have any ideas why it's listed as fixed in the release notes for both 7436 and 7440 ??

Don't know about the bugfix, but there is a nice "workaroundish" thing you can do.

Just make a "select in field" action with no value for the field you want to clear. This action will clear the selections in that field.

Brilliant! Thanks. I've sent a note along to support to ask about the bug-fix listing. Perhaps the bug fix IS the work-around you describe..

Just an update on the 'Clear Field'.. I received a note from support that there IS an action for this. Go to the 'easter egg' screen, select 'ExtendedActionsSR3' and set value to 1. This then reveals the 'Clear Field' action. (and maybe others.. I haven't looked through them yet...

To get to the 'easter eggs', go the 'help' menu, select 'about qlikview', then right click on the 'eye' in the bottom left corner. This should reveal a list of registry settings. Scroll to the one you want, type in the value (most are 0 or 1), and then click 'set'. The only other one I have used is the 'SuppressSplash' setting. Set this to 1, and you wont get the annoying Qlikview splash screen when you open Qlikview...
