topic Flash a Button a Color for 1 Second in QlikView

Hello All,

In my dashboard I have some simple buttons for the selections (lock, unlock, clear). I was wondering if there was a way to have these buttons flash a different color than their standard when they are clicked, say for 1/2 a second or so to let the user know they are working? I was unsure if you can use some modified VBA in the calculated color, I don't think so but am not sure. I don't think this is worth creating a macro but if anybody has an idea please let me know.

Thank you in advance,

Clint

Clint,

Use the technique outlined here: http://www.grangersmithconsulting.com/the-most-undervalued-function-in-qlikview/

HOWEVER - What that blog entry fails to mention is the massive downside to setting thigs to flash on and off every second; becasue you're using the now() and mod() your variable has to be re-calculated by Qlikview EVERY second so can be a massive drain on CPU. This is compounded when you add other parameters to your conditional show; eg when Sales are over X.

I'll never forget the face of a Qliktech employee when I first suggested this a principal few years ago; suffice to say he didn't think it was a good idea.

Good luck,

Matt - Visual Analytics Ltd

New Qlikview Design Blog: http://QVDesign.wordpress.com
