You can centralize the expressions used in the objects by defining variables.

To define a varaaible: In the Settings Menu> Variables overview option press Add button to declare the variable name. And use the Definition (text area) to declare the expression that the variable will represent.

In the tables - wherever you are using the expression/ formula just replace it with the variable name....try with some simpler ones to start with.

This forum already has a wealth of info on these topics.....search and you'll find.

Hi All,

I'm just leaving the office, but in the morning I will need to make the same minor modification to a lot of expressions in a lot of objects. In Visual Studio or VBA, where the code is stored all in one place and can be edited globally, I could make a global search and replace, or something similar across columns/widgets.

Is there a way to do that in QV 10?

Or am I missing the paradigm (again...)?

Thanks!

You can do expression search/replace in the Expression Overview dialog. Access the dialog from Settings, Expression Overview.

-Rob

http://robwunderlich.com
