I'm trying to create a container creating several charts?

I don't want the chart title to be the label of the tab in the container (that title would be too long)

Furthermore, the label for container tab should be dynamic (multi-language)

BUT: it seems like the "label for selected object" doesn't accept expressions? or is this a bug?

Anybody knows a workaround for this?

thanks,

Nico

Hi Nico,

If you are aware just ignore this post ..

Name the chart which you have created and then bring into the container . It displays the name which u have mentioned for the chart. Its not accepting the expressions.. Might be its ment only for naming.

Regards,

Chakravarthy.

Just change the "Windows title" (Properties >> General tab) of the different chartses into the expression you want to use.
You can do this for all the different objects, also when you already created the container.

Hope this works for you.

Hi

thanks for your answer.
But it doesn't really solve my problem 100%.

What I want is in fact 2 different 'titles'
* one short title in the tab of the container
* another longer, more descriptive title in the chart

For the chart, I have the 'window title' (under general tab) and 'caption title' (under Caption tab), but the latter is never used: if I enter different descriptions in 'window title' and 'caption title', it always shows the 'window title' in the caption, and it is also this window title' which is shown in the container tab.

I need the chart caption because I want the have 'export to excel' command available.

I found a workaround:
* set the 'window title' to the short title
* enable 'show title in chart' and set this to the long title
* set the text color for the caption to transparancy 100%

But:
Problem 1: this gives an empty caption bar with only the 'export to excel' icon
Problem 2: this doesn't work for a straight table chart

I give up.
I think I'll just have a fixed, non-translated, short title in the container tab...

Nico

Hello,

I have a container with many objects inside and therefore I need to put short titles in the container tab using the "Label for Selected Object" in container properties->General.

I noted it's not possible to use functions/expressions, but I really need to make a multiline container tab.

I tried tu put in "label for selected object" something like below:

='first row' & chr(13) & 'second row'

or

first row

second row

but neither doesn't works both using IEPlugin and AJAX !

I'm using vesion 11.2 SR2 (build 11922)

Anyone can help me to achieve it primarily in AJAX ?

Many Thanks & Best Regards

Andrea
