Numeric value is shown when selecting date-value

Dear all,

I have the following Qlikview file in which I created a date-object in which I can select a data. If I create a text object in which show the the selected variable as object using =date(vDateInput) it shows the selected date.

But when I select a data I the date-object I do not see date but I see a numeric value. Any thoughts on how I can make sure I see a normal date here?

Seems to be CALENDAR OBJECT

go to tabe Number ...>Override Document setting(check)....>Date(check)....>Format pattern(MM-DD-YYYY)

adding to the above answers,

You can also format your date range using

VFromDate: DATE#(20110101,'yyyymmdd')

and in the range definition of the calendar object you can use $(VFromDate).
