RE:Un scramble?

Hi all,

I have small doubt.

I hve done one field as scramble. so the field is shwng the data in some other language. so i want to get back means to original language what i have firtst?

How can i achieve this ?

i dont think it is possible

check this in help

Scramble

Press this button to perform a random scrambling of the contents of selected field(s). Numbers are scrambled to numbers and text to text (spaces are kept). Once scrambled, the data cannot be recreated in its original form by QlikTech or anyone else. If you re-execute the script, however, the scrambling will be lost.

Purpose is to generate some random values of a field. This could be useful when you want to share your sample qvw (may be here asking help) and you would not want to let people know about your original confidential data. It's about data security.

Hi Suresh,

I think it is not possible, the only thing you have to do is reload the file again, you will get the actual values.

Next time when you are doing scramble take a back up of existing one.

Hi,

Generally scrambling is done when you are giving demo of the Dashboards to other clients, scrambling is done to change the actual values, so even you share with others the numbers and values are not correct.

Hi,

When you do scrambling and save it will ask for Save AS that time you give a different name.

You could have 2 fields, a scrambled value and a regular value and then use Section Access to determine who sees scrambled versus unscrambled data.
