Report Editor Question

Hello :

I've designed a multipage (landscaped) report that works fine. It has a long table with a lot of columns in each page but a few rows.

This is what I get in two pages

And this is what I want to get in one page

Is there any way to get this result without using two diferent tables ?

Hi Joaquin, I would say that you need to use two tables. But without any sample of how the report is build I'm afraid I can't say anything else.

I know that using two tables I can get it ... but the effort to maintain two tables is just the double.

I've dissabled it, but I have one table with just the double of columns ... the numbers are very very little and I can't read them.

Hi, Joaquín.

The idea is to have the "remaining" columns in the second page? If so, I believe that it is not possible, since the multipage feature works by line.

With multipage option disabled, please try to change the stretch definition in your report's table. Maybe setting it to "fill" should work.

May be

setting the print settings to 1 x 2 pages.

It seems as if your object is narrow enough, multi page is fine. But if your object is (too) wide, you can't use 'clip' and fill/ fill with aspect fill only the current sheet.

Using the builtin Report Designer, this cannot be done vertically in an automated way. Large/wide tables overflow on the next page in a Multipage setup. You will have to simulate two tables. If the width of the large table is fixed at n columns, it shouldn't be too difficult to accomplish. You can hide these objects from your UI by hiding the sheet on which they're placed. That's how the Report Designer does it anyway.

I'm not sure, but maybe NPrinting supports a layout like this.

Hi Peter:

I can create to tables and print them togheter in a simple page ... but I need multipage because the table would grow up to the right.

The same in the vertical mode, I wish to use the full area of the sheet not leave in blank the bottom or the right part.

I don't have NPrinting, and I won't have it.
