Problem with buttons in QV12

Hi all,

I updated Qv to version 12 and now something wrong happens with buttons.

It has two different behaviors using the qv desktop. If I open my app from local everything is normal. But if I open it from the server the button actions doesn't work.

Any help?

May be like a Bug...

Try in web view at desktop only

Balraj,

I can't change the layout option if i open my app from the server.

The button actions work properly if it is opened from accesspoint.

i suppose that you have a different version (not V12) on server right ?

Have you upgraded both the server and your desktop to v12 or is the server running a different version?

When you open the app from the server are you using Ajax or the IE Plugin?

Yes, we haven't upgraded the server yet. Maybe can it be the answer.?

Server is v11 yet. I just upgraded the desktop.

When i open from the accesspoint (web browser/ajax), everything is ok.

I created an app just for test, with one button closing the document. Same problem: local it is ok, from the server nothing happens;

What actions have you enabled on the buttons?

Some actions do not work from the server and are only applicable when running Qlik using the desktop app.

For example buttons calling reload actions will not work on the server.

same prob for me.

i just removed v12 desktop and installed again v11.2 but the problem is still here.

action buttons not working with desktop version or web with ie plugin. they work fine on web browser without the plugin.

my buttons are personal (in shared file) and mainly "select in field"

We're talking about actions like selection and variable change. It works fine in the other versions of QV.

I got the same issue.

I run Qlikview 11.2 on the server, and recently I started testing Qlikview 12 Desktop on my local computer. When i run my server-applications through IE-plugin (I am still using the 11.2 plugin) i can no longer use buttons. The buttons functions works just fine in the Ajax-setting - but then the Excel-export doesn't work.

No type of action from the buttons work (Select, clear field, run macro, set variabel, zoom etc.)

I looks like some sort of bug regarding using buttons, when Qlikview 12 is running on local with 11.2 server-setting?

From QlikView 12 Release Notes:

2. Known issues

[...]

Qlik does not recommend installing QlikView 11.20 Desktop with QlikView 12 installed. This will

result in two versions of the software existing simultaneously on the machine and may cause issues.

I don't know if this is one of the known issues but I'd try to uniform the versions Server/Desktop.

Similar problem here. Downgraded everything to 11.2 SR13 because we encountered with 12 SR1 performance problems and 12 SR2 was totally buggy (Joins and Keeps doesn't sporadically work).

Buttonactions are not executed when app runs with IE Plugin. In Ajax it works. Some colleagues with the same setting (Windows 😎 don't have this problem.

I reconfigured the entire system (server, desktop & plugin) to QV12SR3 - that solved the problem.

I installed QV12 SR4 only in the desktop and it solved the problem. Thanks all.
