Open Qlikview Document with plugin

Hi all,

How should you specify the document name in the 'Open Qlikview Document' action when access is through the plugin/server?

Its fine when using local windows client but logically I am drawn to 'Launch' as it is actually IE I want to open - am I missing something?

Hello Gordon,

If you have the plugin installed in your computer, you can access the document by pointing to URL

qvp://yourserver/yourpathtodocument

Is that suitable for you?

That was one of the things I tried but it didnt work.

I forgot to mention that I also used http://www.bbc.co.uk/ as the URL which opens up OK in the client but is ignored in the plugin.

I am using v9sr4.

Hello all,

Has anyone succesfully 'launched' another document from the plugin and if so how did you reference the 'called' document in the 'Open Qlikview Document' action?

I asked the question of support but was told that it was an education thing and beyond the scope of support - not down to the poor documentation ( I added that bit )

I just revisited a test document I created when trying to resolve this before and referencing the 'document to open' by URL or relative path on the server e.g.

qvp://myserver/folder/document.QVW
../folder/document.QVW

both work.

Dont know whats changed since then but oh well!

Hi Gordon,

I've been scouring posts for ages looking for the right answer to this, finally found it so I thought I would post it back here so others can find it.

If you want to 'by-pass' access point and link straight to the url, using the qv webserver, try this url:

http://<<SERVERNAME>>/QvAJAXZfc/opendoc.htm?document=Published/<<FILENAME>>&host=Local&client=Plugin

This works for me, so long as the qv server is set up to display all documents in the Published Folder,
