Initial Select on Screen

Hi everyone,

In my Qv document, I have a straight table and bar chart for 9 regions. But, always, Qv shows 7 of 9 regions and leaves out 2 regions: Norgistics and WCSA.

Anyone knows why Qv does that?

May be there is a bookmark on opening document or sheet if it is selection criteria

else for year 2014 there might be no data associated to Norgistics and WCSA.so,they appear grey

Actually, both regions do have data for all filters applied originally.

Hi,

Just by watching at your screenshot, I can tell that those regions are in gray because there is no data in Year 2014 for regions Norgistics and WCSA So, first you should double check that this is correct. Otherwise you'll have to check your extractions, transformations to look if somewhere some data is being discarded,

Hola,

creo que por tu nombre hablas español. Veo que tienes seleccionado en el campo Month, eso puede estar acotando más tu selección y haciendo que se pongan en gris.

Una forma de validar en que meses si hay datos es hacer una tabla simple con Month y Region como dimensiones. Como expresiones puedes poner las mismas que tienes en la tabla de la imagen y en tus seleciones actuales solo escoge año 2014 y nada más. Así puedes validar si efectivamente tienes datos para todos los meses o no. Además de eso revisa que no tengas otras selecciones activas o que no haya algún tipo de trigger al momento de abrir el documento o de activar la hoja,

From the looks of it and the way QlikView behaves, I would also guess there is no data. What if you drop a 'Table Object' and just add Region and Actual. Sort by Region and see if there are any WCSA returned.

If not, you may want to look into the 'Current Selections' box and see if something is being selected that maybe you don't realize.

Podrías incluir en tu imagen un cuadro de selecciones actuales por favor? Como dice Jaime Aguilar capas que el Mes o algun otro campo seleccionado esta afectando tu resultado.

Efectivamente hablo español. Soy de Chile.

Estoy revisando los datos y en el cuadro de filtro con que ingreso a la pantalla, sólo tengo seleccionado Year = 2014 y Month = Ene|Feb|Mar|Abr|May. Ambos filtros los activo vía trigger y antes de usar trigger, igual me dejaba afuera estas 2 regiones (siempre las mismas) de la primera pantalla. No hay caso, como entre siempre me muestra 7 de las 9 regiones.

Es más, cuando uso la mini tabla de filtro y selecciono una de estas regiones que no aparecen la primera vez, me muestra datos en la tabla y gráficos de la pantalla. Y cuando la des-selecciono esta región, aparecen en la tabla y gráfico las 9 regiones en vez de las 7 que me muestra en un comienzo. ¿¿??

Maybe your document 'On Open' event has triggers associated with it that are selecting 7 or your 9 regions.

Creo que ya sé donde puede estar el problema... pero no sé como solucionarlo

En la pantalla inicial se muestran 3 indicadores que se alimentan de 3 hojas excel diferentes, donde la clave que las une es el campo Region...

Estas 3 planillas excel contienen información diferente para cada región y están enlazadas por la Region por un tema de seguridad (pues, yo le doy acceso a los usuarios dependiendo de la región a la que pertenezcan).

El tema es que para una de estas 3 fuentes no hay datos en las regiones Norgistics y WCSA...

Puede ser que de ahí parta restringiéndome de todas las vistas estas 2 regiones???

Porque el problema lo tengo cuando entro a la pantalla que se basa en la planilla para la cual estas regiones Sí tienen datos...

No sé si se entiende. Ahora voy a ver como traduzco todo esto a Inglés.

I think I know where it can be the problem ... but I don't know how to fix it .

In the main screen, I have three indicators that feed on 3 different excel sheets, where the key that links all 3 sources is the Region field which is displayed on the initial screen ...

These three excel spreadsheets contain different information for each region, and they are linked by the Region for a security issue (because I give access to users depending on the region which they belong).

The issue is that for 1 of these 3 sources there are no data in regions Norgistics and WCSA ...

Can I restrict myself in all the views for these two regions because of this??

Due to before, I have this problem when I get to the screen which is based on the source with data on these 2 regions ...

Hi,

Just try to upload year and region alone in a new demo application with out any other constraints and check if its work fine for your selection and if so, then check with other constraints as well.

I did it...

Because of that, I found this connection between 3 sources through region field, and I discovered that 1 of these 3 sources have no data for the 2 regions which not appear in following selections...

Ok, then you can click on show null values in the chart properties or verify if the null values are excluded in the chart property as well?

In the script provide some dummy values to the fields to replace the null values for that 2 regions
