Morning all

I have email forms with input boxes that contain drop down lists defined by =concat(DISTINCT{1}[Field Name], ',') so the drop down selection didn’t filter other input boxes.

This works great however I have noticed you can’t search them the same way you can search a multibox drop down i.e. by just starting to type.

Does anyone know of a way to make an input box drop down searchable in this manner.

Also if anyone knows how to make a input box mandatory that information would be greatly appreciated.

Bella

Go to the properties, then the presentation tab. Highlight a field expression by clickingon it, then click the"advanced" button from the options on the right. The default search mode you are looking for is the wildcard search.

Does this work for you?

Erica

If the drop down list is too long you can remove the {1} in the set expression, that way you can limit the no. of values.

Unfortunately the full list, although long in some cases, needs to be there was just trying to avoid people having to scroll too much to find the selection they are after. Because it is a input email form the drop downs need to be independant of one another but some are very long.

Hi Bella

If your input box options are limited you could "fake it" with a list box that links to a stand-alone field comprising the drop down items you wish to use. Then you could link your variable to the selection in that field. If you set the list box to "always one selected value" that will prevent users fromselecting more than one item.

Erica
