Proper Procedure for QlikView Destktop Upgrade from Version 9 (SR5) to 10 (SR1)

I need to upgrade my QlikView Desktop from Version 9 (SR5) to Version 10 (SR1). The primary reason I need to do this upgrade is because I support other QlikView users who recently downloaded the QlikView desktop 10 version.

My questions are the following:

1) Is it possible to upgrade my version 9 to be a version 10, or is version 10 a separate program when it is downloaded?

2) If I can not simply upgrade my 9 to 10, how do I get delete version 9?

When looking in the Add/Remove Programs area of my Control Panel, I noticed the following three QlikView programs:

QlikView

QlikView OCX SDK

QlikView Plugin

If I want to first get rid of version 9, should I delete all of these programs?

Once the prior version is deleted, I can then go to the download page to obtain the new version, correct?

Any assistance is much appreciated.

Hi,

if you choose other installation directory for QV10, the 2 applications will share the same machine and license (if you have one). Actually I have the 2 apps in my PC, QlikView 9 under the "QlikView" directory and "QlikView 10" Directory.

If you choose the QlikView directory, all the files (including the core qv.exe) will be replaced.

Just be careful about, which app will be related to the .qvw files (almost always, the last version of QlikView you executed)
