Calculating Percentage Change

Hi Experts,

I have 6 month end data for sales. For 6 months i have defined 6 variables.I am trying to calculate month on month sales variance in the expression of a chart.

I want to calculate and show the percentage change in the expression as shown above.

Please note that my chart will 2 columns:

1. The selected month

2. Variance between the selected month and its previous month, in percentage.

Hopefully I am able to make you understand what exactly I am looking for.

Selected months are set as variables. there are 6 variables for 6 months.

Jan 12 - Var1

Dec11 - Var2

Nov11 - Var3

Oct11 - Var4

Sept11 - Var5

Aug11 - Var6

I have defined variables for the months to make the chart dynamic.

Previous month sales are not calculated. data for the sales are in the data file.

Thanks for your input.

This is not exactly I am looking for.

What I want is :

My chart will only show two columns

1. The latest month sales data ( Jan 12 as shown above)

2. Percentage change of Jan 12 with Dec 11 ( But Dec 11 data will not appear in the chart)

And I want to make this dynamic ( To make it dynamic I have defined 6 variables for 6 months)

Jan 12 - Var1

Dec11 - Var2

Nov11 - Var3

Oct11 - Var4

Sept11 - Var5

Aug11 - Var6

Var1 will show the latest month end date within the date range

Var2 will show month prior to Var1

..... and so forth..

Are you sure you want to do it with variables like this? This is not dynamic... Can we offer you another solution?
