As long as the two tables with those dimensions are properly associated, you can limit one dimension by the values of another.

You can either use Calculated Dimensions, which can be quite heavy at times, or you can apply your filter in Set Analysis within your Expression. If your expression only produces results for a limited number of dimension values, then all other values will be disregarded automatically. My personal choice would be using a Set Analysis in the Expression, whenever possible.

I want to limit the number of records I pick up from a table to build a trellis chart. The issue I am facing is how to select a limited number of records based on a the value of the dimension in another table.

I have to pick Dim1, Dim2 and Expression from Table1 while I want to display only those value of Dim1 that are available in another table Table2.

Is there a way to use a calculated dimension for this?
