Expanded and Collapsed Pivot shows different amounts(Total)

Hi all,

I have made a pivot table. it shows partial total on first dimension.

When it is expanded, it shows much more details against '-' (NULL) dimension but total remain same as in Collapsed.

Can anybody help me out?

I know some are surely able. I am waiting for their inputs.

Hi,

the problem is that in a pivot table the "Total Mode" (under expression tab) is set to "Expression total".

In a straight table the option "Sum of Rows" is also available.

For help see the QV help and search for "aggr" => Advanced Aggregation => sum-of-rows totals in a pivot table

There is a good explanation why this happens and shows a way to get the right results.

Thanks for your time. But this seems not working!

My table's "Total Mode" option is deactivated. The problem might be some where else. Please help !

Hi,

that´s what I´m saying. This option is not available in a pivottable.

But "QV help" shows a way to get the right results for "Total" in an pivottable.

Or if possible upload an example of your application we can work with.

Hi Rainer, Thank you , for - you have spent some time on my issue.

What i have finally found is,- the basic problem was with the data model itself. There were some 'one to many relationships' (Many RSE_Codes against a single Cust_Code). This made the issue prevail.
