Selecting Data Source (Type) During Import

Hello,

I am looking for any suggestions\ideas around getting QlikView to load data from either a file or a SQL Database at time of import.

I have used text files to specify the SQL DB so that I can move the QV document between environments and get it to use the DB for that environment. Yet now I have a situation where it would be good to decide if to load via an file or a DB view at load time.

The columns in the file and the DB view will be the same names... but without duplicating all of the import statements I am not sure if this is possible... has anybody had any experiences with this before?

(I have searched and not found anything similar... but again if somebody has good search terms to use I am happy to see what is out there)
