Variable as label in an expression

Hi Friends

I have following variable in my data load script

Let v1=Date(Makedate(2017,12,01),'MMM-YYYY') ; result Dec-2017

When I try to use this variable as label in my expression it shows blank value. I put the table as follows

=$(v1)

Pls help me to get it corrected.

Try without $ expansion like: =v1
