A dirty solution for this particular question ...

You can set all expressions to Horizontal on the presentations tab. I also added a calculated dimension called ='Total 1'

Play with it a bit in your original qvw.

Hello !

I have a situation here where I need a "matrix" of several boxes where each one has a different formula. Pretty much like a table except that on each cell I have a totally different formula (Excel mimic).

Take a look at the attached screen shot and you'll see what I mean.

I have dont that using Text Objects but I don't think this is the best way of doing it.

Would someone else have a better layout solution ?

Thanks !

Hi, Adriano

why don't you use the Chart Object - Straight table with horizontal layout.?

I guess it should work.

Justinas

Hi

One way is to use a pivot table without any dimensions and add your expressions one by one.

Hope it helps
/Fredrik

Thanks Justinas !

Great ! It works.

However the value column appears two times.

See the attached example !

Guess what it could be ?

Thanks !

If you look on the Expressions tab and then on the right side, you see Total Mode. This should be 'No Totals' for both expressions.

Hi, Adriano,

I'm not sure if my last post disappeared or what, but I was writing that the only solution that came into my mind was to use fake dimention with IF(..) clause. I attached example, where that dimention has "Hide Column" option on "Presentation" sheet in Chart Properties.

Take care,

Justinas

Ok Justinas.

But wonder if I have 300 expressions !

Yes I could use the PICK function for that but guess it would be cumbersome...

So , here I post another question :

What if I had a DATABASE of TITLES or LABELS (left column) AND their corresponding expressions as a field ?

So, for instance, a database like this :

LABEL ;EXPRESSION

TOTAL 1 ;SUM(VALUE_FIELD)

TOTAL 2 ;SUM(IF(GENDER = 'F',BREAST_SIZE,0)

The dimension would be the LABEL of course but the EXPRESSIONS should be EVALUATED upon exhibition.

Feasible ?

Thanks !
