Hi !

I'm new to QlikView. I've decided to do the whole tutorial to train me.

Unfortunately, I have some trouble with some points.

Tutorial, page 65 (displaying bar graphs) :

Changing the number format
Displaying the numbers on top of the bars is very useful, but when a large
range of values is shown, there is not enough room for all the numbers. You
can solve the problem by changing the number format:
1 Open the Number page in the Chart Properties... dialog.
2 Expression default is preselected here. Change it to Fixed to.
3 Change the value in the Decimals box to 0 (if it isn't set to 0
already).
4 Enter 1,000 $ in the box Thousand Symbol.
5 Click OK

My properties window looks like that :

(when I set "0" to the "fixed to", it becomes empty when I click "apply")

But my graph is still like that :

The axis is right (in thousands), but the values on top of the bars are still full ("240,781" instead of "241").

This is the expected result :

Could you tell me what I'm doing wrong ?

Hi would have removed the ',' from the format. Expected format : # ##0

Hi,

Changing the thousand symbol doesn't change anything :

If I change the number format to "# ##0", it displays unhuman readable numbers :

And if I change the number format to "###0", it displays the full numbers too :

Hi nmartin,

This looks to me like a bug (23980) that has been corrected in the code and will be part of the next service release for QlikView 9.
