Dynamic scripting based on the file chosen

Hi All,

I want to laod the data from excel based on path entered by the user in inputbox.

while loading i want to check specific conditions (like if column name contains country) and load only specific fields.

Is this possible in load script or a macro is required. can anybody post a sample QVW with this kind of a functionality?

Have a look at the attached sample qvw that gives you an idea how to take input from user and use that as parameter in the script load.

In my case, user will give the excel path, I need to read through the excel and pick only specific fields and reload.

If suppose the excel file has a field ID and country , I should only load country field.

I understood, and thought that my example would show you the direction how to move. It's true that I did not exactly show as per your requirement. Give a try, you would get.

Hi Shruthi, Your requirement is doable in Qlikview. Please post some sample data and desires o/p you need.
