topic Numeric Value for Month in QlikView

Numeric Value for Month

I have a date field called PurchaseDate. Instead of it rendering Jan, Feb, Mar, etc. I want the numeric value so 1,2,3, etc. I have tried different things and it is not working. I know this is simple.

Try the num() function, like

=num(month([PurchaseDate]))

=Date([PurchaseDate], 'M')

But this only changes the format while preserving the internal date representation.
